Situated on the shore of Puruvesi’s clean waters, Ruoke Holiday village is fantastic for swimming and water sports, and the shallow beach is great for kids. If you get tired of all the fun and games in the water, you can rest on the warm sand, or build a fantastic sandcastle. For active families, there are lots of different activities, such as minigolf, fishing, and cycling.
The Holiday Village’s wide range of accommodation offers plenty of options to suit you and your family. You can stay with us all year round in our holiday cottages and cabins, or at our campsite. Guests at our campsite can use the area’s service buildings and amenities, such as the shower/toilet facilities, kitchen and dining facilities, washing machines, and tumble dryer.
The restaurant makes holiday life easier, and serves delicious food for adults and kids alike. You can also cook your own food in the kitchen facilities or using the shoreside barbecue shelter.

46-year-old Markku Mänttäri first visited Ruoke Holiday Village when he was 6–7 years old and still vacations there with his own family. For the father of two, the safety and tranquility of the Holiday Village are important. It’s nice to go away from the hustle and bustle of Espoo to calm down in the middle of nature several times a year and you’ll sleep better at night.
– It’s the best place, Mänttäri enthuses.
Over the years, the Holiday Village has expanded a lot and the accommodation options have grown. The warm-hearted owners are the soul of Ruoke Holiday Village. From his childhood, Mänttäri remembers the horse-drawn carriage rides that Väinö Laukkanen organized on his farm with a horse.
– The horse ran really fast, laughs Mänttäri.
The younger of Mänttäri’s sons was only a week old when he first visited Ruoke. Nowadays, 11- and 13-year-old boys like to go to the Holiday Village and especially enjoy grilling and smoking fish. Family holidays consist of spending time together, swimming and taking a sauna.
There is also plenty to do and see at Ruoke, as the Holiday Village restaurant organises dances and karaoke. Mänttäri particularly praises the restaurant’s terrace, tasty food and good selection of ice cream. The region surrounding the Holiday Village has also impressed him.
“I could move there,” Mänttäri says wistfully.
The nature and landscapes are unique in Ruoke and there is definitely something for everyone – both to relax and to do something fun.

The Puruvesi salmon stocking dates bring together fishing and water management enthusiasts for an autumn event. During the weekend, you can learn about stocking operations and participate in the important work of maintaining fish stocks.

Puruvesi autumn fishing 5–6 September 2026
The Puruvesi Autumn Swivel Fishing Competition brings together fishing enthusiasts once again to enjoy the autumnal competitive atmosphere in the stunning lake scenery. The event is held in Puruvesi, and the competition center is Ruoke Holiday Village.
The competition is organized by Karjalan Kalamiehet ry, and the event offers a great opportunity to test your skills and spend time with like-minded fishermen.

Maarit Hurmerinta Duo – 23.7.2026
Welcome to enjoy the atmosphere of Finnish music when Maarit Hurmerinta Duo comes to perform! Maarit’s long and successful career as an artist began in 1972, and over the years she has become one of the most respected interpreters of Finnish music.
Maarit and Sami Hurmerinta form a strong and warm-hearted duo, whose performance is full of genuine love for music. During the evening, well-known songs from over the years will be heard, such as Jäätelökesä and Toiset tytöt, toiset pojat, as well as other beloved tunes.
An atmospheric summer evening full of music, emotion and togetherness is promised.

The Puruvesi Race, held in Puruvesi, brings together surf enthusiasts to compete in stunning lake scenery. The event offers a fast-paced racing atmosphere and a summery feel for both participants and spectators.

Puruvesi Salmon King 2026 – 27–28 June 2026
The legendary Puruvesi Salmon King competition will be held again on 27-28.6.2026! First organized in 1983, the competition brings together fishing enthusiasts for the 42nd time for a traditional rowing-trolling competition.
The starting points of the competition are Ruoke Holiday Village (competition center) and Mäntyranta camping area. Registration is open – come and experience one of the most anticipated events of the summer!
On Saturday evening, the atmosphere continues with the Ruokke competition dances, featuring Telemark Kollektiivi.
